If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident (whether you were the pedestrian or driving in your car) or in the workplace (a WSIB injury), you can access a wide range of insured treatment options — all under one roof! The costs of these therapies are covered by your car insurance company or WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board).

The Team Approach

By having access to medical doctors and therapists under one roof, confirming the right diagnosis and matching this to the right therapy is made easier. Most of the ICCI therapists you will see are within steps of each other, which improves communication between your providers — this helps to understand what is best for your injury situation:

Physiotherapist – assists you with your physical limitations and helps you reduce pain in certain areas.
Acupuncturist – can help increase energy, relieve pain, and reduce stiffness through acupuncture needling.
Chiropractor – can assist with muscle, joint, and alignment/posture imbalances.
Laser Therapist – helps reduce painful trigger/tender points on your body using painless low-intensity (cool) laser.
Kinesthesiology – assists you with developing a personal fitness program to improve your physical endurance and reduce joint/muscular stiffness and fatigue.
Medical Doctor – can help overall condition through use of medications and pain-reducing procedures (lidocaine/intravenous infusions, trigger point injections, Botox therapy, cortisone injections).
Nurse – helps to administer various procedures (Lidocaine infusions, Myers’/nutrient infusions, chelation therapy) under the supervision of our health providers.

Medical Investigations

When cases are not straight-forward (such as simple strains or sprains), it is important to investigate further using appropriate medical testing (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, bone scans, etc). This must be done under the supervision of our InjuryCARE medical physician, who will determine the need for the test and help to follow-up with the results. When any of our team therapists detects a concern with your progress, this will be brought forward to the attention of the InjuryCARE physician assigned to your case.

Insurance Documentation

Filling out the appropriate paperwork can be daunting and difficult. Our on-site insurance specialists will be able to assist and guide you through this process. In many cases, we can go to bat for you in dealings with the insurance companies or WSIB. Without the right paperwork being filed at the right time, you may be denied benefits or care — this could have significant effects on the outcomes of your injuries or your finances. Forms such as OCF for the car insurance companies and Form 8 / Functional Abilities Forms (FAF) are routinely completed to assist your file. In most cases, these forms can be filed electronically on your behalf at no cost to you.

Convenient Therapy

By having all of your InjuryCARE team members under one roof, you will save time and travel costs (which can be difficult especially after a personal injury). Your health file will also be easier to access, as will communicating your needs to your insurance adjustor or adjudicator. You may be able to undergo multiple types of therapy simultaneously, so as to reduce the impact of your injury faster, and with less of the lasting and lingering effects.

In cases where your file may require legal representation (lawyer, para-legal representative, injury association, union), we can assist with file reviews and case/chart summaries, second opinion requests, specialist consultations, medical testimony, etc.).
